SPRING 2024 RETREAT

Things to Leave Behind and Things to Keep:
Examining Creativity and Aging
April 25-27, 2024
Facilitators: Nancy Condon & Kevin Womack
Featured Presenter: Helen Geglio
We are excited to announce that textile artist Helen Geglio will be joining us to present a lecture
and lead a hand-stitching workshop. Originally from Michigan, Helen now lives and works in South
Bend, Indiana. She is interested in the lives of women and looks for meaning in pieces of cloth.
Her materials are often repurposed clothing and domestic linens; textiles made, used and
maintained by the hands of other women. She uses hand stitching and embroidery to hold the
pieces together, to bind the layers and gather the detritus of daily living into a new whole. We
invite you to explore Helen’s work on her website: https://www.helengeglio.com/
