Holding Back the Water is an art quilt inspired by efforts to keep water at bay along lowlands and seashores. It is made with a handmade screen, printed twice (one on top of the other) with an intentional shift and a color change. The resulting double print was then overdyed, cut in strips, and pieced in layers.
