ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Nature’s processes, colors and textures have intrigued and inspired me since I was very young and provide me with clarity and energy each day. Themes of nature, decay and the human condition often show up in my work. As I find beauty in the discarded and overlooked, I incorporate rescued fabrics and found objects whenever I can.
The processes of dyeing, painting and eco printing the fabrics and threads I use allows me to work with my hands and get a little dirty in the process, which takes me back to the farming roots of my ancestors.
I come by my love of producing and constructing naturally as there were crafts workers and artists on both sides of my family tree back several generations. Although I have always been creative, I have focused on fiber art since 2010.
